BRITTANY SMITH – SOPRANO

Brittany has been serious about opera since she was introduced to the discipline by her choir mistress, and her happiest moments so far at the Cape Town Opera include performing in the Artscape Youth Festival, the UCT Opera Kaleidoscope, and debuting the role of Pamina in Mozart’s The Magic Flute. She’s also completing her Postgraduate Diploma in Opera Performance at UCT, Brittany already holds a Bachelor’s in Music (Opera). She’s an advocate for tuberculosis sufferers: once diagnosed with the disease just 10cm away from her vocal cords, she makes it her mission to address the stigma still attached to TB.
