Position: Communication & Marketing Assistant

Location: Cape Town, South Africa (office at Artscape Theatre Centre)

Minimum requirements:

  • Matric/Senior Secondary Certification (NQF4)
  • Relevant Qualification/Degree in Social Media/Digital Media/Advertising/Marketing
  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience within a similar position (preferably within similar industry)
  • Must have a true passion and keen interest for the Arts & Culture industry
  • Basic knowledge of WordPress – must be able to add/edit pages of website and use relevant analytics to improve site
  • Basic knowledge of Mailchimp  – construction and execution of email campaigns
  • Basic knowledge of Social media  – how, what and when to post on various platforms and analyse and monitor posts
  • Have a strategic vision  – compile long term social media plan and execute
  • Valid drivers’ licence

Key Performance Areas will include, but not be limited to:

  • Design and execute company messages on various media platforms
  • Assist with all marketing department functions
  • Facilitate the distribution of messages through various owned, earned and paid media
  • Work within the company Brand Guidelines
  • Manage all design and video editing programmes
  • Manage all aspects of Social Media Accounts  on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube where content will include press-release, promotions of upcoming shows and interesting/latest news about company and productions
  • Construct newsletter in line with company brand and distribute via Mailchimp to subscribers on bi-weekly basis, announcements, ticket sales and latest/interesting news
  • Report directly into the Marketing Manager
