CAPE TOWN OPERA THANK YOU CONCERTS

Thank you to the agricultural sector

On Friday April 30 the Cape Town Opera Chorus embarked on a mini road trip to the outskirts of the Witzenberg Local Municipality (near Ceres). Similar to the concerts we performed around the Cape Metropole last year, the two concerts were aimed at expressing our heartfelt gratitude to the agricultural sector.

The chorus were warmly received at both Northridge Farm Fruit Packing Plant and Matjiesrivier farm. Cape Town Opera’s Youth Development and Education department handed out the Cape Town Opera Activity Book to the delighted children in the audience.

Our special thanks to Isiqalo Development Trust for their contribution to the success of these concerts and the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport for their unwavering support.

Thank you to the firefighters

On Friday May 21 Cape Town Opera staged concerts at both the Central Fire Station in Roeland Street as well as at Volunteer Wildfire Services base in Newlands Forest. The two concerts were aimed at expressing our heartfelt gratitude to the firefighters who worked tirelessly and risked their lives in the recent fire on Table Mountain.

“This is definitely one of the highlights of my career of 40 years (I am retiring at the end of January 2022) and I really enjoyed the performance of the chorus as well as the interaction.” Philip Prins, Fire Services Manager at Table Mountain National Park.

Thanks to the support of the City of Cape Town and Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport.
